3 Ocak 1982'de San Diego, Kaliforniya'da dünyaya gelen Brett Simmons, Chapman Üniversitesi Dodge Film ve Medya Sanatları Fakültesi'nden mezun olmuş Amerikalı bir film yönetmeni, senarist ve yapımcıdır. Sinema kariyerinde adını geniş kitlelere duyurmasını sağlayan en önemli dönüm noktası, 2004 yılında yazıp yönettiği ve Sundance Film Festivali'ne seçilen Husk adlı kısa filmi ile bu filmin 2010 yılında After Dark Originals kapsamında uyarladığı aynı adlı uzun metrajlı sinema filmi olmuştur. Korku ve tür sinemasındaki çalışmalarına The Monkey's Paw (2013), Animal (2014) ve Fantastic Fest'te prömiyer yapan You Might Be The Killer (2018) gibi projelerle devam eden Simmons, ayrıca The CW kanalında yayınlanan Pandora adlı bilimkurgu dizisinde de senarist ve yönetmen olarak görev yapmıştır.
