Film6.0TarihMaceraCook and Peary: The Race to the Pole is an unabashedly biased recreation of the controversy concerning the "conquering" of the North Pole. Robert E. Peary (Rod Steiger), a US Navy commander and shameless self-promoter, sets out through Arctic wastes in 1909 to discover the Pole, an expedition that many others have attempted but failed to complete. His principal rival is Dr. Frederick A. Cook (Richard Chamberlain), who insists that he'd already reached the Pole in 1908. Though the experts (and the US Congress) conclude that Perry was first, public opinion is firmly in Cook's corner--as is this TV movie.

Film6.1DramKomediBernadette has a yen to chuck it all and go back to nature, in this French-language Canadian film. That's just what she does after carefully leaving her wedding ring where her affluent husband, a lawyer, can see it. She has bought a farm, complete with a run-down farmhouse and a live-in cranky old man. Soon, because of the wonderful effects that her sympathy and her outsider's perspective have, her neighbors perceive great improvements in their lives. They attribute these changes to something miraculous (perhaps taking a cue from her name), and hordes of needy people descend on her farm.
Film8.5KomediREDISCOVER the best moments of: Bob Binette, Jacques Chevalier Longueuil, Raymond Beaudoin, Ginet Robidoux, Dave Ash, Ludger, Corporal St-Gelais, Chose, Yasser Arafat (Québec version). LES BLEU POUDRE on Taquinons la planète was: disobedience (they got kicked in the balls), indecency (they walked around naked), recklessness (they went to chat with the Mohawks), and mischievousness (they loved new rhymes). LES BLEU POUDRE was also politically very incorrect — and damn, it felt good. ENJOY IT WHILE IT NO LONGER EXISTS.
