  Ordudan döndükten sonra işsiz ve parasız kalan Emil, arkadaşının çalıştığı sette figüranlık yapmaya başlar. Bu sırada Fransız dansçı Milou ile tanışan Emil, genç kadına aşık olur. Milou da Emil’den etkilenmiştir ve çift romantik bir buluşma için sözleşir. Emil, Milou’yu Berlin’e getirmek için onun asistanlığını yaptığı Beatrice Moree’nin hayali olan Kleopatra filmini çekmeye karar verir. Ancak yaşananlardan habersiz olan Milou başkasıyla nişanlanmıştır. Artık aralarında Berlin Duvarı’ndan çok daha büyük engeller vardır.
