İkinci dünya savaşında 10 Temmuz - 31 Ekim 1940 arasında gerçekleşen bu kahramanca dönemde almanlar İngiltere'yi işgal planlarını uygulamaya koyarlar. Bu işgal planının ilk aşaması da ingiliz hava savunmasının ve radarlarının yok edilmesidir. 1 aylık bir süre zarfinda ingiliz hava sahasında cok çetin savaşlar olur. Sayılar cok daha az olmasına rağmen ingiliz pilotları gecit vermez ve almanlar işgalden vazgecerler.

Londra Metrosu'nda kazı yapan işçiler bir çok insan kemiğine rastlarlar, bunun üzerine hemen polise haber verilir. Polis, konuyu araştırması için Profesör Bernard Quatermass ve Dr. Mathew Roney'e haber gönderir.
