Satoshi Itomura is an assistant police investigator who belongs to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Scientific Investigation Team. Reenactments, fingerprint and voice data collections, profiling... His team collects scientific evidence and pieces together fragments of information in order to help build evidences. However, Itomura often does not care about the scientific approach and instead pays a great deal of attention to the things that the victims always carried with them or treasured. And he focuses on these things because they usually carry the victim’s dying wishes, understanding that last message not only helps solve the cases but also brings closure to the depressed family of victims.

In 1924, a time when both steam engine trains and early Showa Era's first train stations are just beginning. Sky High is a live-action, supernatural Japanese television drama series, starring actress and model, Yumiko Shaku. It aired in Japan, first run, from 2003 to 2004, and was popular enough to spawn the 2003 feature film of the same name. Both are based on the Japanese manga, Skyhigh. Shaku stars as Izuko, the Guardian of the Gate to the afterlife. The basic premise of the television series is somewhat similar in concept to the American series, Ghost Whisperer, in which the protagonist must use her powers to guide the dead on their journey to the afterlife by helping them determine the meaning or circumstance of their death. However, in Izuko's case, no matter how hard she tries, her guidance does not always result in a happy ending.

'Honto ni Atta Kowai Hanashi' (Literally: “True Scary Stories”) is a horror comic series published by Asahi Shimbun Publications that compiles scary stories—such as school ghost stories—said to have actually happened, as well as an original video based on the series and a Fuji TV television drama adapted from that video. It is commonly known as “Honkowa”.

This renzoku follows four women in the "around 40" generation. Shifumi is an attractive woman who stole her classmate's boyfriend in high school, and despite criticism from others, she got married and had a child. However, she soon divorced and currently keeps a younger boyfriend. Three of Shifumi's former classmates: ordinary housewife Makiko, work-focused doctor Neri, and housewife Miwa. Miwa is having an affair with Shifumi's ex-husband Keishi (the boyfriend Shifumi originally stole from her.) Eventually, the various secrets and lies kept by the four women all come to light.

Saya who came to Tokyo after being traumatized by an incident eight years ago. She learns that the man involved in the case has been engaged to her sister and returns home without being able to stand. Saya's radical words and deeds involve the people around him and reveal their hidden humanity.

The story is about a woman named Asami who is tortured and left for dead by a Yakuza group, only they failed to finish her off, and she staggers back from the grave, literally. Bruised and battered, Asami seeks refuge at her old gang until such time she is ready to take on the Yakuza and go face to face with Junko.
