Adam and Paul are two young junkies living in Dublin and perpetually on the lookout for their next fix. During their search, they encounter various unsavoury characters and make some futile attempts at petty theft. As their day progresses, Adam and Paul get into a good share of trouble as they do whatever they can to score heroin, eventually running afoul of an imposing thug—who only drags them into more shady activities.

For eighteen year old, Derek, running drugs isn't a big deal, it's just a job. But juggling a relationship, family and his 'career' isn't easy. Something has to give.

"8.5 Hours" is a drama about one extraordinary day in the lives of four Dublin office workers during the final months of Ireland's Celtic Tiger years. A controversial mix of intense drama and some very black comedy, it depicts the personal lives of four workers in a small software company spiralling out of control throughout the course of one working day from 9.00 to 5.30, the 8.5 hours of the title. Sexually charged and constantly surprising, the story relentlessly twists and turns and builds to a series of haunting and unforgettable resolutions.
