Ivan Ivanovich Zhurov — unlucky, but very experienced detective. He travels everywhere on his old "Pobeda", one brings up a daughter, loves to drink and has very troubled amur relations with his colleague. All this does not prevent him from masterfully disclosing the most complex and tangled loud criminal cases, for which, besides him, no one more risks to take.

The Kuznetsov-Sayko family lives in the provincial town of Tetyushev: Olesya (21 years old, an art college student), her mother Elena (45 years old, head of the supply department at a construction company) and grandmother Iraida Stepanovna (65 years old, a performer of romances and folk songs at the local philharmonic).

Anya is a mother of many children. Yana is a convinced childfree. They have diametrically different ideas about happiness, but the same - about friendship. Together with kindergarten, they cannot imagine life without one another and have long resigned themselves to the fact that they will never understand each other in family matters. The status quo lasts thirty years... until this story begins.

Film tells the story of one of the most difficult and tragic moments of the liberation war of Ukrainian people against the rule of Poland (1648 - 1657 years) - Battle of Zbarazh.
