Tragically he was dead from the effects of drugs and alcohol by the time he was only 50 & the myths live on. But there is another side of Flynn that is less well known - his ambitions to be a serious writer and newspaper correspondent, his documentary films and his interest in the Spanish Civil War and Castro's Cuba

A group of sadistic mercenaries led by Col. John Hogan kidnap Michael Danton from his home, and set him loose on the grounds of their secret camp to be used as training for new recruits. A troubled Vietnam vet snaps during a training exercise at a survivalist-type military camp and thinks he's back in Vietnam. He kills several of the staff members who he thinks are Vietcong. The other participants set out to track him down and capture him before he hurts or kills anyone else. However, the camp's owner, who knows he'll be in trouble if word of this incident gets out, has no intention of capturing the man; he plans on killing him.

An independent movie from 1990 highlighting the valor of the men who served in Vietnam. Ramon, an American soldier, is newly added to a platoon of Marines ordered into Cambodia to extract a Russian general named Zelenkov. As Ramon arrives in the camp, the audience gets to know each member of the team, and Ramon suffers from the normal hazing of a new team member. The soldiers successfully land in Cambodia and extract the general, but an elite troop of Russian paratroopers tracks them down. Several battles follow, with many redemptive acts of sacrifice.
