The Brutalist filmi, İkinci Dünya Savaşı’ndan sonra "Amerikan rüyasını" yaşamak için ABD’ye göç eden Macaristan doğumlu, Bauhaus eğitimli Holokost kurtulanı mimar Laszlo’nun yolculuğunu ve hayat hikâyesini anlatıyor. Başlangıçta yoksulluk içinde çalışmaya zorlanan Laszlo, kısa süre sonra hayatının seyrini 30 yıl boyunca değiştirecek bir kontrata imza atar.
