Amerikan CBS televizyonu tarafından yayınlanan dizi 24 Emmy, 6 Altın Küre ödülüne aday gösterilmiştir. Dizi Türkiye'de TRT tarafından Kanıt Peşinde adı altında yayınlanmaktaydı. Dizide şef Gil Grissom ve ekibi her bölümde ayrı bir davaya/cinayete açıklık getiriyorlar.

Dizinin temel esprisi, "bir suçluyu yakalamak istiyorsanız onun gibi düşünün" sözünde yatıyor. Quantico'daki Davranış Analizi Ünitesi'nde çalışan ajanlar, suçluların psikolojilerinden, davranış biçimlerinden yola çıkarak suçu çözüyor. Yöntem: davranış psikolojisinin uygulanması, istatistikler, ajanların deneyimleri, "hızlı hızlı konuşanlar bir şey saklıyordur" önermesinde olduğu gibi çıkarımlar.
