Jugni (Firefly) is the beat of the soul, the free-flying spirit. Jugni is Vibhavari (Vibs). Vibs is a music director, working on her first big break in the Hindi film industry. When work and home affairs, with her live-in boyfriend Sid hit a high tide, Vibs hits the road with a glint of hope; to find music. The journey takes her to a village in Punjab in the search of a Bibi Saroop, whose voice holds the promise that Vibs is searching for. But as the twist of fate would have it, Mastana, Bibi's son and a proficient singer himself, is the voice and man who winds his way into Vibs' heart. From here on, Jugni is about striking balances, making tough decisions while trying to soften the blows and dealing with the studied dramatic turns and unpredictabilities of life and finding the place which one can call home; home of the heart, where the firefly is at her brightest.

A low caste boxer, Shravan, trains at a gym controlled by a local Don, Mishra. Shravan falls for Mishra's niece, Sunaina. Mishra does not approve of this match. Shravan strives to win Sunaina's hand in marriage and become a successful boxer while trying to avoid retaliation from Mishra.

In a sleepy hill town in northeast India, a lonely mother tries to reconnect with her estranged policeman son by channeling her inner detective to help him solve a murder.

Chandan lives with his elder brother and uncle. One day while going across the river to get some medications for his uncle, he meets with Gunja, and both eventually fall in love. Fate makes Gunja's sister, Roopa, get married to Chandan's brother. Roopa dies in a freak accident. The family decides that Chandan's brother should get married again, and they propose marriage to Gunja. Will Chandan sacrifice his love for his nephew, and brother? Will Gunja accept her brother-in-law as her husband?

The film, based upon the life of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, caused some controversy as the Punjab and Haryana High Court issued a notice to the producers calling for a ban of the movie.It was released in 2002. In the same year two other movies on Bhagat Singh were also released named '23d march 1931 Shaheed' and 'The Legend of Bhagat Singh'.

Ghar Jamai revolves around a North Indian father-in-law (Satish Shah) and his South Indian son-in-law (R Madhavan). However, quick-witted Subbu always managed to foil Mehra's plans. The duo was always at loggerheads, and their chemistry was the USP of the show. While the father-in-law and the son-in-law loved to hate each other, Chandni (Mandira Bedi) used to get caught in the crossfire. In the show Satish Shah's Mr Mehra and Madhavan's Subbu are like Tom and Jerry, always trying to get the best of each other. Ghar Jamai came to an end when Madhavan decided to quit the show after Mani Ratnam offered him Alaipayuthey. He gained instant recognition with the Tamil film and went on to deliver many hits down South.
