To be defeated and not be - a victory. This is the motto that life is guided by three young friends: Alek, Sophy and Rudy. Scouts, high school graduates high school in Warsaw drifting ambitious plans for the future broken through September 1939. Entering adulthood in a very dramatic times, which puts them a choice - to survive at any cost, or to join the fighting for a free homeland, risking everything. The boys brought up in patriotic homes, shaped by the ideals of scouting, they decide to fight. They become soldiers, and although every scrape with death, they can live a full life.

The two washed-up TV stars Micki and Ginger and the unemployed physicist Reno try to kidnap a young woman. But one of the three kidnappers suddenly doubts the value of the money and drives his accomplices mad. The kidnapped woman is already missing. Three children from a good family are looking for their sister: the dutiful Junior, who counts up his day in seconds, his brother Adrian, who, by contrast, thinks life is one big family outing, and Sophia, the artist, who never finds the real thing in life.

Tim is a taxi driver who divides what is left over from his irregular hours between caring for his elderly father who suffers from Alzheimer and his boyfriend, Han. Tim has things under control, in his own way, however his quiet world is about to crumble.

Caro hasn't actually been able to do anything for a long time. As a nurse on a dementia ward, she has hardly taken any vacation in the last two years and has accumulated countless hours of overtime. But it is only when her dearest resident, Mrs. Rumi, dies that the barrel overflows: Instead of going to work the next morning, Caro goes to a locker at Frankfurt Central Station, takes out a packed, brand-new rucksack and simply sets off - without a destination, without a plan, without a cell phone and without any outdoor experience.
