Vaishnavee (The Goddess), (Sinhalese: වෛෂ්ණාවී) is a 2018 Sri Lankan Sinhala drama thriller film directed by veteran director Sumitra Peries and produced by Mano Nanayakkara. 1930’s, Sri Lanka. Partly a compelling domestic drama, and a demonic love story, the narrative follows a puppet-maker who’s set to be married to a young girl. Unfortunately, the girl elopes with her secret lover. Devastated, the grieving puppet-maker ends up carving a puppet in her likeness, which eventually comes to life, setting in motion a fantastical chain of events.

Altynai is an orphan girl living in a remote mountain area. Though she is in her youth, Altynai never got a chance to have a proper education. With the founding of a new administrative structure, the government mediates to establish the education system in the rural areas. One day, Duishen an attractive stranger comes to the village to provide education facilities for the children in the village. He starts a school in the village. Young Altynai also joins the school to study. Together with the other ordinary villagers who don't know the value of education, both aunt and uncle of Altynai also try to destroy the school. Altynai tries her best to continue with her studies amid of all the hardships she faces.

Samath's humble and patient demeanor is also highlighted in the movie and contrasts vehemently with the sense of entitlement we see in children educated in major cities. His innate desire to ensure that his village receives electricity and find a practical method of supplying water to his parents' paddy field are what motivate him. Will he succeed?

Sandesaya (Sinhalese language word meaning The Message) is a 1960 film. The film based on the war between the Sinhalese people and the Portuguese invaders in Sri Lanka. It was directed by Sri Lankan film director Lester James Peries. It was produced by K. Gunaratnam on behalf of the Cinemas Company on the request of Raj Kapoor.

Iqbal is about an Asian boy who gets sold by his father to a small carpentry production company in which child labour is supported. The father of the boy fools the village folk into believing he's a healer, but ultimately the sham is exposed, causing the village to revolt against the boy and his family.

The story revolves around the match-maker Mangala Jaya (Vijaya), who is a poor, but kind hearted person with a single daughter. A series of hilarious incidents went through the plot, and though he is a match-maker, he fails to find a good boy to his young daughter. At last, his daughter was able to find the soul mate.

Sulanga Apa Ragena Yavi is a 2016 Sri Lankan Sinhala drama film directed by Nuwan Jayathilake and co-produced by director himself with Maya Nawagaththegama for Nawagaththegama Films. It stars Priyankara Rathnayake and Suranga Ranawaka in lead roles along with Sujeewa Priyalal and Iranganie Serasinghe
