Michael ve küçük arkadaşlarının kötü kalpli uyuşturucu satıcısı Mr. Big'e karşı verdiği mücadeleyi konu eden film senaryosu başlamadan önce canlı Man in Mirrror performansı ve Michael'ın müzikal geçmişinin bir özetiyle giriş yapılan Moonwalker filmi MJ'in film adına yaptığı en akılda kalan projesi olmuştur. MJ'in Bad Dünya Turunu sürdürdüğü 1988 yılında sinemalarda gösterime giren Moonwalker efektleri ve animasyon çalışmalarının yanı sıra Smooth Criminal videosunu da bünyesinde barındırmaktadır. Esasında Michael, Smooth Criminal için uzun bir klip çekmeyi düşünmüş ve çapı büyüyen projeyi daha sonra bir filme dönüştürmeye karar vermiştir. Moonwalker filmi de böyle bir gelişim ile ortaya çıkmıştır.

After an atomic war Phillip Hammer and Marlowe Chandler have spent 15 years on their own in an bunker, stuffed with junk from the 40s and old detective novels. In this made for Showtime television spoof of Madonna's "Truth or Dare" documentary, comedienne Julie Brown portrays Medusa, an egocentric, hyper-sexual (and not particularly talented) pop star on an international five-day world tour, "The Blonde Leading the Blonde" show. Brown painstakingly duplicates costumes, sets and hairstyles while spoofing Madonna's seeming self-obsession. Madonna visits the cemetery where her mother is buried; Medusa visits the pet cemetery where her dog Buster is laid to rest. (Or is it "Boomer"?) Madonna performs fellatio on a bottle, at the dare of a friend; Medusa does it on a watermelon. And so on...
