Psych dizisi tam anlamıyla CSI serileriyle ve Medium dizisiyle komedinin harmanlanması diyebiliriz. Biraz daha ayrıntıya girelim o zaman... Dizinin kısaca konusuna değinmek gerekirse, polis bir babanın oğlu olan Shaw'ın süper bir hafızası ve çok kuvvetli bir analiz yapma yeteneği vardır. Shawn bu yeteneklerini, çözülmesi zor olan suçların aydınlatılmasında kullanmaktadır. İzlediği suç ağırlıklı haberlerden, suçu kimin nasıl işlediğini var olan deliller doğrultusunda hafızasında birleştirerek suçluların yakalanmasını kolaylaştırmaktadır. Dizinin pilot bölümü bu tarzda gelişen olaylardan oluşmaktadır.
