Film Polonya'nın Jedwabne köyünde Nazilerle işbirliği yapan Leh köylülerin Yahudi komşularını öldürmelerini konu alıyor. Yapımcı Dariusz Jablonski tarihi gerçekliğin ortaya konmasını istediklerini söylüyor: "Önemli olan bunun Polonya'nın yüzde biri, daha azı ya da daha fazlası tarafından işlenmiş olması değil. Önemli olan ne olduğunu öğrenmemiz. Çünkü Polonyalıyız ve kendi tarihimizle yüzleşmekten korkmamalıyız." "Poklosie"'de 1990'dan sonra ülkede komünist rejimin çökmesinin ardından köyü Jedwabne'ye dönen bir Polonyalının bu katliamı ve babasının da katıldığını öğrenmesi sonrasında gelişen olaylar anlatılıyor.
