The show was meant to compete with those on West German television. To this end it was fairly successful even attracting a following in parts of West Germany which could receive Eastern TV. Its production values were high. Apart from song and dance numbers and appearances from East German celebrities, almost every broadcast featured well-known stars from the west, often after their popularity had peaked in their home countries.

Young Tina has a big dream, she wants to become a successful pop singer. That's why she tries her luck in the music show 'Formel Eins'. There she meets all kinds of stars like Falco, Meat Loaf, Die Toten Hosen and Pia Zadora and of course the presenter Ingolf Lück. The result is a colorful mix-up and the question arises as to whether Tina can make her dream come true.

Günther, Michael, Barny and Franz, real Munich boys, want to make their own music: Rock 'n' Roll Bavarian-style. Will they go under or make it to the top?

Opening a pub in a dusty dump with virtually no choice. Only one drink, only one dish and only one song. Does that sound like a good idea? In Munich, the city with gastronomic abundance? Probably not. Nevertheless, two casual acquaintances have exactly this business idea and put it into practice in upscale Munich, in the middle of the chic crowd. The Munich commercial film director Augustin is thrown out because he hasn't paid the rent. Together with the unsuccessful Austrian writer Roland, whom he doesn't really like, he moves into his grandmother's former restaurant. The two men decide to reopen the pub. Although they only serve sausages and schnapps, they are surprisingly successful. But the landlord has other plans.
