Lena, aged twenty, wants to know all she can about life and reality. She collects information on everyone and everything, storing her findings in an enormous archive. She experiments with relationships, political activism, and meditation. Meanwhile, the actors, director and crew are shown in a humorous parallel plot about the making of the film and their reactions to the story and each other. Nudity, explicit sex, and controversial politics kept this film from being shown in the US while its seizure by Customs was appealed.

A young, shy and inexperienced man travels back to Sweden, to spend the summer at his mother's house. He meets a number of women with whom he has sexual relations.

The world, the student learns, is hell and human beings must suffer to achieve salvation. The play centers on a family of strangers who meet for the sake of meeting. They exchange no dialogue, nor gestures, they simply sit and bask in their own misfortune.

Lawyer Hans is having an affair with his secretary Anni and is trying to get his wife to meet another husband. When his wife falls in love with another man, Hans instead becomes jealous and realizes his true love for Ellen.

A girl of 14 is embarrassing her foster parents. She exposes herself to a homeless and police. It turns out that the girl has had sex with various men in exchange for a little kindness and chocolate. At fornication trial she has to face the city's municipal chief, who also has abused the girl.

"The Marriage" - Eva and Kent are planning to get married. Their bridal stag parties causes some problems. The wedding reception will serve moonshine since the regular booze is capsized at sea.

Kjell Loväng returns to his parent's farm after a few years of work in Stockholm. He discovers that his father Arvid neglects the farm and spends too much time drinking and meeting other women. Kjell has to prove to his father his ability to manage the farm.

The kid Anderssonskans Kalle is a menace to his surroundings and this time he uses nails, fireworks and sneezing powder.

He travels with the navy's cruiser to Barcelona, but his jealous fiancée Gullan has followed him in secret to keep an eye on him.
