  Hudson Hawk lakaplı ünlü hırsız Eddie Hawkins on yıldır yatmakta olduğu ceza evinden çıkarken kendine hayatının geri kalanını dürüst bir vatandaş olarak geçireceğine söz verir. Fakat iki uçuk milyoner olan Darwin ve Minevra Sunflower, Eddie'den Leonardo Da Vinci'nin üç eserini çalmasını isterler. Eddie'nin bu teklifi geri çevirme şansı yoktur, çünkü Mayflower'lar onu eğer işbirliği yapmazsa yakın arkadaşı Tommy'yi öldürmekle tehdit ederler. Fakat Vinci'nin ufak bir hatası aletin kurşunu bronz yerine altına çevirmeye başlamasına neden olur. Bu buluşun yanlış ellere düştüğünde ne kadar tehlikeli olabileceğini tahmin eden Vinci, aletin üç parçasını üç ayrı eserinin içine saklamaya karar verir. Mayflower'ların niyeti ise Eddie'ye bu üç eseri çaldırmak ve elde ettikleri altınlarla dünyanın finansal sistemini yerle bir etmektir...
