Köyünde huzur dolu bir yaşamı olan Ashitaka, bir gün ormandan kötü bir varlığın gelmekte olduğu fark eder. Ormanın sınırından hızla çıkan Orman Tanrısı, değdiği her şeyi yok ederek ilerlemektedir. Köyünden küçük bir kızı kurtarmak için, canavara dönüşmüş olan Orman Tanrısı'na saldıran Ashitaka, mücadele sonunda canavarı öldürür ama ölümcül bir yara alarak lanetlenir.Bu lanetten kurtulmak için bir yol aramak üzere köyden ayrılan Ashitaka, kendisine yardım edebileceğini umduğu Ormanın Ruhu'nu aramaya başlar. Ancak Ormanın Ruhu'nu arayan başkaları da vardır: Lady Eboshi ve Irontown sakinleri. Lady Eboshi ve Prenses Mononoke arasındaki savaşta kazanan olmadığını ve hem insanların hem de doğanın zarar gördüğünü fark eden Ashitaka, onları durdurmaya çalışacaktır.

Director Ogata discovers a new female star in Koharu Tanaka, who works selling candy at a studio theater and she is given a part as a bit player. After the studio's top leading lady is embroiled in a scandal, Koharu is suddenly thrust into the limelight when she replaces her in a film and gains instant fame and fortune. But the going is not always easy, and she soon seeks help from unexpected quarters.

When his travels take him to rural Hokkaido, Tora-san helps a cantankerous old veterinarian (Mifune) in his relationships with his estranged daughter, and a woman in whom he is secretly interested.

This film stays very faithful to the original down to the smallest details, save for the kangaroo-rat that suddenly appears twenty minutes into the movie and subsequently follows Aladdin around, serving no purpose in the story but fulfilling the role of token animal mascot. The story takes some illogical and confusing jumps at the point where Aladdin begins to court the princess, and the extravagant animation that had characterised Toei films of the 60s, when Toei had the best animators around, had become a thing of the past long before this point; but this is still an above-average film, in large part because of the screenplay that stays so faithful to the original. The character designs are slightly more western-looking than one is accustomed to seeing in anime.

When his travels bring him to Osaka, Tora-san falls in love with a local geisha. He helps her to track down her estranged brother, and informs his family that he plans to marry her. His plans are foiled when the geisha informs Tora-san that she is engaged.

After the Winspector police team leaves Japan to fight crime in France, Chief Shunsuke Masaki realizes he must create a new police team to defend Tokyo from crime. He creates Solbrain – a high-tech special rescue force, expert in missions requiring rescue and firepower. Its leader is Daiki Nishio, a rookie detective who can use the Plus Up command in his car to transform into SolBraver. Other members are Reiko Higuchi, also able to use the Plus Up command to transform into SolJeanne, SolBraver's female counterpart; and SolDozer, a yellow bulldozer robot.
