He immediately falls in love with her, and wants to help her. Stefania is thinking about any possibility to get out from the prison. She flirts with the ugly yard guard Armandos, and with the truck driver coming with foodstuff, but in vain...

A spoiled rich girl falls in love with a poor, good-looking but also talented pianist, rejecting a wealthy suitor from her own class. She was arrested, interrogated and tortured and was finally sentenced to execution.

She was a woman of the night, but she never became a prostitute. She was mired in filth up to her neck, but she continued to dream. And when the dirty pimps of the port tried to break her spirit, she became a fierce hyena, who bloodied the mulberry tree...

The young daughter (Anna Synodinou) of a well-off family comes back from Switzerland after completing her studies, married to a young scientist, Thanasakis (Byron Pallis), who comes back to Greece determined to serve his country as a politician. He searches for her and finds her at the home of Lola, a prostitute who has taken the unfortunate girl in. Their plans to claim their happiness are overturned once and for all when Lola's protectors rape Maria, who dies shortly afterwards in hospital. Christos takes his own life and Lola kills the man responsible for the girl's death.
