Chicago’da bir hastanenin acil servisini her yönüyle ekrana taşıyan ER’ın hikayeleri öncelikle doktorlar, hemşireler, tıp öğrencileri ve diğer hastane personeli üzerine yoğunlaşıyor. İkincil öykü çıkış noktası ise hastaların yaşadığı problemler.
