Dr. Tenma, Almanya'da oldukça iyi bir konuma gelmiş, ünlü ve yetenekli bir beyin cerrahıdır. Daha öncelikli bir hasta yüzünden eşini kaybetmiş bir kadının, kocasının ardından ağlamasını gördükten sonra bundan sonra hiç bir hastasına sosyal statüsüne göre öncelik tanımayacağına dair kendi kendine karar verir.
