  60'ların Paris'inde ergenlik çağındaki Musevi çocuk Moses, annesi kardeşini de alıp evi terkedince babasıyla mutsuz bir hayata mahkum olur. Zamanının çoğunu mahallenin Türk bakkalı İbrahim Demirci ile geçirmeye başlar. Moses'ın babası depresyon sonucu intihar edince, onu İbrahim evlat edinir. Çok bilge bir adam olan İbrahim'in ışığında Kuran'dan yaşama dair güzel şeyler öğrenir Moses. Sonunda dükkanı kapatarak bir spor araba alırlar ve İbrahim'in ülkesine, yani Türkiye'ye doğru bir yolculuğa çıkarlar. Moses, burada bambaşka bir yaşama adım atarken yepyeni insanlarla da tanışacaktır.
