İdam cezasından ve Stalin'nin tasfiyesinden mucize eseri kurtulan Rus Subayı Kotov, şimdi de cephede ön saflarda savaşmaktadır. Kızı Nadia ise hemşire olarak, başkalarının hayatını kurtarmak için kendi hayatını riske atmaktadır. Savaşın parçaladığı ulus ve hatta eski düşmanlar bile vatanlarını savunmak için birlikte savaşmaktadırlar. İnsanlar zafere ulaşmak için birleşirler.
