A young doctor taking a break from work is shot in the head, and the police can't find a clue even as to a possible motive. Inspector Al Gordon (John Alexander) decides that he has to put some men on duty at the hospital, and one of them is Fred Rowan (Richard Conte), a detective with experience as an army medic, masquerading as an intern. What Rowan finds is a high-pressure world in which interns are hopelessly squeezed for time, sleep, energy, and -- most of all -- money, and walk a fine line on the edge of personal and professional disaster.

Stony Brooke, Rusty Joslin and Rico, known as The Three Mesquiteers, return to Oklahoma at the close of the Spanish-American War, and are concerned that some of their wounded buddies have no prospects for a satisfactory future. When the government offers preferred homesteads in the newly-opened Oklahoma territory to war veterans, they send word for their pals to join them there. Once there, the veterans meet a hostile reception as the cattlemen resent the influx of "nesters" and are determined to drive them out. Mace Liscomb and his brother Orv plan not only to drive out the homesteaders, but to also double cross the cattlemen and gain exclusive titles to the range lands for themselves. Stony and his pals eventually show the honest cattlemen that there is room for the settlers and that both are fighting a common enemy. Written by Les Adams

The prodigiously talented Gleason became a TV icon after he joined CBS from DuMont, where his work on `Calvalcade of Stars' had established many of his trademark characters, including Reginald Van Gleason III, the Poor Soul and Ralph Kramden, featured here, along with Art Carney, in `Honeymooners' sketches. Tonight Starring Steve Allen is a talk show hosted by Steve Allen. It was the first version of what eventually became known as The Tonight Show. Tonight was the first late-night talk show, as well as the first late night television series of any time to achieve long-term success. Allen's run as host of the show lasted for two and a half seasons, beginning in fall 1954 and ending with Allen's dismissal in January 1957. During its run it originated from the Hudson Theatre in New York City.

1, 2, 3 Go is an American filmed children's television series hosted by Jack Lescoulie with Richard Thomas. The 30-minute educational series was telecast on NBC in 1961-62. Each episode had a theme and was narrated by Thomas. The show established that adult and child were on an equal footing, sometimes with the child in a superior position.

A short-lived change of format for the talk show "Tonight Starring Steve Allen". The co-hosts Steve Allen and Ernie Kovacs were dismissed, and the series changed into a news show. Jack Lescoulie and Al "Jazzbo" Collins served as the new hosts, while Hy Gardner conducted the interviews. The news show suffered from low ratings, and several NBC affiliates dropped the show. NBC then changed the format back into a talk show, under the title "Tonight Starring Jack Paar".
