Cañaveral de Pasiones is a Mexican telenovela produced by Christian Bach and Humberto Zurita for Televisa and originally broadcast on Canal de las Estrellas from April 22 to September 3, 1996. It is based on the stories Una sombra entre los dos and Al pie del altar by Caridad Bravo Adams, adapted for television by María del Carmen Peña and José Cuauhtémoc Blanco. The story follows Julia Santos and Pablo Montero, two childhood friends whose lives are torn apart by a tragedy that sparks hatred between their families. Years later, Pablo returns to his hometown engaged to another woman, only to realize that he still loves Julia. Soñadoras is a Mexican telenovela. It was produced by and broadcast on Televisa in 1998, and shown in 1999 on Univision.

The telenovela is a remake of the Venezuelan telenovela La Dueña, written by José Ignacio Cabrujas. The name reflects a local term or slang in Mexico to address a person recognized as the main boss. However, the title is also a reflection of both the protagonist and the antagonist struggle to conquer power, authority and respect in a labor field traditionally deemed to be a man's job.

The story follows Marcia Cisneros, who is released from prison after serving twenty years for a murder she did not commit. Determined to prove her innocence, she returns to Mexico to reunite with her family and uncover the identity of the real killer. As she confronts betrayal, resentment, and long-buried secrets, Marcia fights to regain the love of her children and rebuild the life that was taken from her.
