Leo Tolstoy'un 1869 tarihli "Savaş ve Barış" romanının dört bölümlük uyarlamasının ilk filmi. 1805 yılında St. Petersburg'da, zengin bir asilzadenin gayri meşru oğlu Pierre Bezukhov, yüksek sosyete ile tanıştırılır.
