After Sumsemann the beetle loses one of his arms to a troll, he invites brother and sister Peterchen and Annaliese to join him on a journey to the moon in a quest to retrieve his lost arm.

The TV documentation reconstructs the incidents between May and November 1989 from the point of view of the Politburo of the GDR (German Democratic Republic). The incidents include the fraud of local elections, the opening of Hungary's borders towards Austria, the ensuing tide of East German refugees to Hungary and Czechoslovakia for transfer to West Germany, the pompous ceremonies at GDR's 40th anniversary, the inept transactions the Politburo took to salvage the situation, the resulting dismissal of their leader Erich Honecker, the international press conference in East Berlin on 9th November 1989, at which Politburo member Günther Schabowski erroneously announced the immediate opening of the 'Iron Curtain', which finally led to the collapse of socialism in the GDR and the other East Bloc countries.

Professor Von Dracula, a vampire scientist, leaves Transylvania for Cuba, where he invents "Vampisol," a potion that allows vampires to survive in sunlight. When the professor announces his intention to donate the formula free-of-charge to vampires all over the world, the Vampire Mafia from Chicago and the European Group of Vampires from Düsseldorf try to muscle in and steal the formula. The action escalates crazily as an assortment of bad guys, police, vampires and other monsters, and our hero and his girlfriend are all caught up in the chase.

"Spring Symphony" is the story of Robert Schumann and Clara Wieck. Both were music entities. Robert Schumann turns out to have been a second tier composer, if that, never rising to the heights of a Beethoven or Mozart. In contrast, Clara Wieck was a master technician in the playing of the piano, a composer (probably not at Schumann's level), and was a child prodigy.

Four contemplative stories about problems with love: "Profitability" is about money, "The Smile" is about coping with a difficult situation, an "Experiment with Alf" is supposed to save a marriage, and in "Paternity" a lawyer and her husband are committed to a little girl who is the subject of a lawsuit.

Paris, 1888. With the help of forensic medicine, a sensational criminal case is uncovered. The chief of the Paris Sûreté, Inspector Goron, with the help of Lyon University Professor Lacassagne, is able to solve a capital crime that seemed unsolvable according to the methods of forensic science at the time. By analyzing the bone structure, Lacassagne identifies an unknown dead man as the Parisian civil servant Alphonse Gouffé, who disappeared months ago, and is also able to prove that he was murdered. The murder suspects include Gabrielle Bompard and her lover Michele Eyraudt.

Somewhere in the American countryside, reporter Ellis Yester and his wife Paula live in a tranquil country house. When one day Yolande and Edmund Clenz move into the neighborhood, the lives of both couples change abruptly. The unemployed journalist and the attractive neighbor fall in love with each other. This happens because both are dissatisfied with their respective spouses. Ellis and Yolande begin to plot a murderous plan...

At the battle of Solferino Joseph von Trotta, a lieutenant in the Slovenian infantry, is wounded while saving the life of the young Austrian Emperor Franz-Joseph I.
