Ruthless Italian-American banker Gino Monetti is engaged in a number of criminal activities. Three of his four grown sons refuse to help their father stay out of prison after he's arrested for his questionable business practices. Three of them take over the business but kick their father out. Max, a lawyer, is the only son that remains loyal.

Goofy is portrayed as George Geef, a typical common man who makes a perfect prey for all kinds of swindlers, bookmakers and the like, eager to be a 'good looser' after they 'won' all his money; never mind the name of the game nor the venue, from alley to casino and 'friendly' poker nights. Alas, even when lady luck smiles at him, the poor player doesn't stand a chance against the worst gold-digger of all: the wife, who 'manually' blames his irresponsible behavior when he looses but otherwise cheerfully claims all his occasional hard-earned winnings for her own fashionable waste.

When a teacher reads an essay written by Morgan Evans, one of the boys, moved by his rough poetry she decides to hold classes in her house and believes that Morgan is smart enough to attend Oxford.

George Geef gets sent home from work to tend to his cold.

A fungus dubbed "Blood Rust" from outer space threatens to destroy the Earth.

While struggling with their son’s serious illness, a young couple experiences conflict when her husband does not understand the wife’s acceptance of Christ. THE HEART IS A REBEL features the beloved Ethel Waters, and is set against Billy Graham’s historic 1957 New York City Crusade, with color scenes of the Crusade at Madison Square Garden.
